Travel

Travel is one of life’s greatest teachers. It pulls you out of your comfort zone and plunges you into the unknown, revealing a brand new landscape of wonder and discovery to explore.

It is through travel that I have developed virtues like gratitude, spontaneity, patience and humility.

Travel has also given me a more diverse knowledge of different cultures, customs, history, languages and different cuisines.

Through travel, I’ve made a few lasting friends and I’ve also experienced real kindness and generosity from interaction with complete strangers who have far less than me.

Through travel, I’ve experienced stunning scenery but, also witnessed devastating scenes caused by climate change in many countries too. This has opened my eyes to the fragility of our planet and has made me more conscious of carving out my own carbon footprint, as well as appreciate how privileged I am to live the life I live.

Travel has given me confidence, independence and freedom. It has taught me to adapt as well as overcome difficult situations, it’s also boosted my self-awareness and problem-solving skills.

I have been so fortunate to have travelled all over the world with my job for the past 17 years, and I can honestly say, I’m a nicer more rounded, worldly person for it. Travel has definitely been the most transformative experience of my life.
