Reflections from 2022

Happy New Year dear friends and yogis,

Another year has gone by, and I’ve had the opportunity and time to truly reflect, as I’ve been resting in bed for the past week with a nasty bronchial virus.

After the past 3 years of dealing with the pandemic, collectively, many of us have discovered that we have a deep rooted quality of resilience. Resilience is inner strength and is required in order to cope and ride the ups and downs of life’s challenges with grace.

I have many friends whom like myself were inspired to make positive lifestyle changes last year, perhaps leaving a well paid job/ or fast paced stressful life for a new slower more fulfilling pace of life.

Offering ourselves the ‘gift of time’ in my opinion is the highest personal wealth we can ever achieve. Time allows us to nurture relationships, family, friends, health and inner peace.

Giving myself the of gift of time has meant letting go of stories and goals that are not meant for me any more - and being ok with that. I’m no longer needing approval, or pushing for an ideal of how I want to be seen, instead, I’m allowing myself to show up in the world authentically exactly as I am.

I no longer put pressure on myself or create long ‘to do’ lists. I now have the time to take care of me and do the things I love which include, keeping myself physically fit, spending time with friends, hobbies and cooking healthy meals. Most importantly, I have time to give to my family, especially my elderly parents and I know they both cherish this so much.

In a nutshell, I feel that our new found resilience has given many of us a greater appreciation of what is really important in life and to then make the relevant changes in order to action this.

Teaching yoga as always, continues to provide a safe refuge and inspires me to inspire others. Im counting my blessings that I’ve had a yoga career now spanning 20 years and even though I’ve cut down my workload, I still have yogis attend retreats and workshops that have known me all of that time, and I also get to meet many awesome new yoga students too, 2022 being no exception.

I can honestly say that I am very fulfilled and contented with my life right now.

This year, may your inner voice be the kindest voice you know and try your best to schedule an appointment in your diary with yourself for at least 30 minutes every day. Offer yourself the Gift of Time, take care of you, you are so worthy of your own love.

With love and gratitude always

B xx
